Bike Patrollers

What Is Bike Patrolling?

Adapted for bike patrolling from Jeff Schmidt’s What is Nordic Patrolling? by Jeannine Mogan, Patrol / Risk Manager, Giants Ridge (also former Assistant Region Director, NSP)

Founded in 1938 by "Minnie" Dole, the National Ski Patrol (NSP) has developed at the same rapid pace as the ski industry in America. Recently, many ski areas have added summer operations to their businesses.  This created a need for Bike Patrols.  Bike Patrols are the newest addition to the more than 25,000 member NSP.
Duties of a Bike Patroller

Patrol shifts are typically 4 1/2 hours long.  Bike Patrollers create their own schedules and patrol as many or as few shifts as they wish.
